OVERVIEW

Airport Logic

For six years I moved back and forth between Mexico and New York, measuring time in airport gates and return flights. A long-distance relationship has a way of turning your mind into a courtroom. I was often asking where this was going, and whether it was going anywhere at all. Even when I suspected it might not last, I stayed. Not heroically. Not blindly. For the same reasons people eventually sit across from therapists and try to explain themselves.

LYRICS

Tomorrow I’ll be going back to face my fate

On a seven-thirty-seven headin’ home

My friends and family will greet me at the gate

But a part of me will be alone

How strange it is to feel sadness

When my happiness is at an all time high

I don’t want to say the word goodbye

Hold me close and wrap me in

That warm shelter of your skin

We can quiet all the noise for one more night

Answers come and answers go

It’s okay if we don’t know

We can quiet all the noise for one more night

Time apart can be the cruelest test of all

The mind creates illusions and deceives

The joy of hearing her voice over a call

Can turn into a fit of jealousy

Indignation caused by bad habits

Is a recipe that tears lovers apart

I don’t wanna end when it’s the start

Hold me close and wrap me in

The warm shelter of your skin

We can quiet all the noise for one more night

Answers come and answers go

It’s okay if we don’t know

We can quiet all the noise for one more night

Hold me close and wrap me in

That warm shelter of your skin

We can quiet all the noise for one more night

Answers come and answers go

It’s okay if we don’t know

We can quiet all the noise for one more night
